SWCB Announces Removal of Doctors from Authorization List

The New York State Workers' Compensation Board on Monday announced actions involving the authorizations of two New York doctors to treat injured workers.

SWCB Chairman Robert Beloten said the board temporarily suspended the  authorization of Dr. Dhanraj Soogree, of Oswego, N.Y., to treat injured workers after the state Department of Health Bureau of Professional Conduct limited Soogree's medical license to preclude all patient contact. The Health Department said Soogree did not contest a charge of negligence on more than one occasionand admitted that he failed to maintain adequate patient records.

Beloten said he believes that Soogree may be guilty of misconduct. His authorization to treat injured workers was revoked effective on Monday.

The board revoked the authorization of Dr. Louis Del Guercio, of Larchmont, N.Y., effective on May 17, 2013, after being informed by the New York State Education Department that Del Guercio does not have an active license to practice medicine in New York state.

Questions should be directed to the SWCB Medical Director's Office at 800-781-2362.

The announcements are here.
