SWCB Revokes Authorizations of 2 Doctors:

The New York State Workers' Compensation Board on Tuesday revoked the authorizations of two doctors to treat injured workers and to conduct independent medical examinations.

Dr. Michael Palmeri, of New Rochelle, N.Y., agreed to a consent order on Oct. 22 with the State Board for Professional Medical Conduct following his conviction on petit larceny and insurance fraud charges in city court in White Plains, N.Y.

SWCB Chairman Robert Beloten revoked Palmeri's authorization to treat injured workers and to conduct IMEs effective on Dec. 26, 2012. The board suspended Palmeri's authorizations on June 8, 2012.

SWCB suspended the authorization of Dr. Peter Ajemian, of Baldwin, N.Y., effective Feb. 11.

Reports submitted by Ajemian for services rendered prior to Feb. 11 are to be considered valid, Beloten said in a regulatory notice.

Questions should be directed to 800-781-2362.
